The 3 months in Norway were great and we reached our goal to “watch & learn” at the YWAM base in Grimerud!
We enjoy being home!!!!!!!!!! For the 4th time since we got married 5 months ago! October 20th we flew from Oslo, Norway into Bulgaria and a friend drove from Constanta to pick us up (2 hours away).
October 22nd our life at YWAM Constanta started! Yeppeee!! Life in the base administration and DTS (Alina) and at the national office and base communication (Alex) is very busy and full of adventure! Getting approvals to open up a house for girls that live on the street or in abusive families or getting a good deal for the internet system at the base from different companies.. it’s never boring and need to go through planes A, B, C, D… to make it work!
Some friends were VERY generous and offered us to live in their apartment for free until next summer! It’s about 200 feet by the sea, at the 5th floor (no elevator!), 5 minutes away walking from the base and is got an indoor fire place! :-) We counted the stairs up to our floor.. there are 70! :-)
We are part of a team of 14 staff from 5 nations :-)
Our ministries are: 1. Discipleship Training School 2. Day care center for street children 3. New Wine Cafe 4. Homeless people ministry 5. Hosting short term teams
To be opened soon: the girls’ house for girls that live on the street or live in abusive families.

At the end of August we got back to Grimerud and to work. We attend the weekly base leadership meetings; fellowship times; staff meeting and departments’ meetings. It’s great to watch and learn from people with over 30 years of experience in serving the Lord!
Alex is keeping up printing materials for YWAM Romania and Alina translates documents into Romanian and helps with painting the laundry and some rooms in the basement of the main building. Some days Alex helps out on the roof (replacing the old tile and fixing the isolation). We made some new friends too :-)
Alina is learning how to bake bread and Alex discovered he likes going fishing.
We miss home and Romanian soup… we are looking forward going to YWAM Constanta in the middle of October and settle down as a family. |

One day at the end of our honey moon we tried waterskiing..
It was awesome! We definitely need more training to ride on top of the water and not sink but we had so much fun doing it for the first time :-) |

We made it safely to YWAM Grimerud and settled in.
After the GoFest (August 9-12) youth festival where over 900 people came together for worship, teaching and fellowship we went to the West side of Norway.
Some friends gave us a ride to Bergen (8 hours driving and beautiful country side) and enjoyed their hospitality for a couple of days.
Then we went to Karmoy (beautiful island) where we enjoyed our honey week #2 at a vacation house by the beach at the North Sea of some friends of ours! We are very grateful for this wedding gift!!!

July 27th Alina got her driver license! Yeppeee!! She answered right to 25 questions out of the 26 questions of the written test and the driving part was good too.
July 31st We are leaving to Norway for a couple of months. In the evening we fly to Hungary, spend the night at the airport, fly out at noon the next day, get a train to the YWAM base and get to Grimerud by dinner.
We will work alongside some experienced YWAM leaders at the ministry center to better prepare us for our leadership with YWAM Constanta.
Please pray for safety for us and our luggage. |
